Some authors view the American Soldier as honorable. We honor American Soldiers through holidays. Many authors view the American Soldier as brave. He defends his country knowing that his life is at risk. Sacrificial is a charcteristic that often comes up when authors talk about the American Soldier. The American Soldier sacrifices his time to go to training and war when he could be spending that time with his family that he left at home. They also sacrifice their lives. After coming back from a war many soldiers are not the same. They sometimes experience trauma which causes them to be paranoid. This is a characterstic that authors write about as well. These characteristics are shown in the form of novels, short stories, and poems about the American Soldier.
